Enrollment- Guidelines

All eligible applications received by the deadline will be qualified for admission or, if necessary, entered into a lottery for admission. Noah Webster Academy cannot be responsible for applications that are late, incomplete, illegible, or contain misinformation therein. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that NWA has correct information, including a valid email address.

Parent's will be notified within 14 business days of the close of open enrollment of either their child(ren)'s acceptance into Noah Webster Academy or their placement on the waiting to be seated list. Once notified of their child(ren)'s placement, parents have fourteen (14) calendar days to complete the registration packet, which will be provided, and return it to Noah Webster Academy. This will secure the student's enrollment. If the parent fails to submit a registration packet, by the deadline given, the acceptance letter will be invalid and the student(s) will lose their allotted position. At which point, the position will be offered to wait listed children.

In accordance with Federal and State law, Noah Webster Academy does not discriminate based on race, creed, color, religion, national origin or ability/disability status. Student enrollment at Noah Webster Academy is filled in the following order: (1) children of NWA founding members; (2) siblings of previously or currently enrolled students; and (3) applicants admitted by the lottery process.

In accord with state statute, our Charter established a weighted lottery as follows:

For the 2008-09 school year

1) Current scholars are guaranteed a seat for next year, as long as they complete the re-enrollment process by the specified date (January 21, 2008).

2) Children of both founding parents and current certified teachers are given the highest weighting

3) Siblings of current Noah Webster Academy scholars have the next highest weighting

4) All other applicants have an equal, but lower weighting.

Important Enrollment Dates

February 15, 2008- Open Enrollment closes (3rd Friday in February)

February 28, 2008- Lottery held

March 19, 2008- Parents/guardians will be notified of lottery results no later than this date (14 business days after the Lottery)

April 2, 2008- Parents must hand in registration packets by this date, confirming their acceptance of the seat.

April 3, 2008 **Hard copy applications (available from the office) will be accepted in the office.

**Note: Applications received will be added to the waitlist on a first come first serve basis. Noah Webster Academy will contact you as space is made available in the requested grade.
