Brian Ellingford

I live in Orem with my wife and our four children, all of whom attend or have attended Noah Webster Academy. After graduating from high school in Los Angeles, I completed a bachelor’s degree in English education at BYU. Later, I completed a master’s degree in pedagogy and instruction at SUU. My thesis analyzed the effects of peer mentoring on the composition skills of secondary education students.
I began my teaching career at Springville Middle School, and after four years later came to Orem High School, where I’ve taught English and journalism for 16 years. In addition to teaching, I’ve served as a director of professional development, a co-chair of the School Community Council, an English department chair, and a curricular team leader. Currently, I’m the advisor of the student news organization, a member of the School Community Council, and the director of the student writing center.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy gardening, chess, cooking, and reading. Most of all, I love spending as much time with my family as I can. I’m grateful to serve the remarkable teachers, staff, scholars, and parents and guardians of the Noah Webster Academy community.
