Literacy:
Sight Words: These sight words were vetted by BYU and Davis School District. The complete set of 1200 words comprise 80% of the words students will read through 8th-grade. Imagine how prepared our scholars would be entering 7th-grade with this literary schema skill set. Sight words should be read perfectly--no repeats or stutters--at the rate of two words per second. I also test them on spelling requiring a 100% accuracy rate and the ability to write them correctly in a sentence. These last two requirements are not required for the program. However, I feel they are important based on my experience using this program for a number of years. The sight words sets are as follows:

Bio:
I grew up in Salem, Oregon where there is a street named after me now! Right out of high school, I attended SUU in Cedar City for several years. After taking a very long break from college, I finished my degree in 2018 (I had recently turned 40!!!) at UVU in University Studies.
I have now been in Orem for 24 years and I love it. I am happily married to my best friend and we have three amazing sons who have all attended NWA and have also fostered 11 teenage girls.
My oldest started at NWA in 2013, where I worked my way from volunteer of the year to PO President to School Secretary to Teacher! I absolutely love every minute of my day at Noah Webster and I adore working with the scholars here. I also enjoy basketball, volleyball, singing, playing the piano, scrapbooking, crafting, being with my family and friends, and everything Disney!
