Literacy:
Sight Words: These sight words were vetted by BYU and Davis School District. The complete set of 1200 words comprise 80% of the words students will read through 8th-grade. Imagine how prepared our scholars would be entering 7th-grade with this literary schema skill set. Sight words should be read perfectly--no repeats or stutters--at the rate of two words per second. I also test them on spelling requiring a 100% accuracy rate and the ability to write them correctly in a sentence. These last two requirements are not required for the program. However, I feel they are important based on my experience using this program for a number of years. The sight words sets are as follows:

Bio:
I grew up in Mapleton, Utah on a small farm where we raised a few cows, chickens, bunnies, ducks and had a cherry orchard. I grew up with three brothers and was definitely the princess of my family. After high school, I attended UVU and received my associates degree and then attended SUU in Cedar City for my bachelors degree in education. When I came back to teaching a few years ago, I earned a masters degree in Instructional Design from Western Governors University.
I taught in Salt Lake City for 7 years and loved it. I took 13 years off to raise my family. I love being at Noah Webster and love my scholars.
While living in Salt Lake, I met my husband. We have four awesome children and two dogs, Oliver and Max. We live in Vineyard and love the views.
In my free time, I enjoy quilting, cooking, reading, traveling and hanging with my family.
