I lived my early years in Ephraim, Utah and later moved to Granger and Edgemont. After graduating from Orem High School, I served a church mission to Sao Paolo, Brazil, and then attended Brigham Young University. I met my wife as a BYU student and also participated in R.O.T.C. After graduation I joined the Army and was stationed in Massachusetts, Arizona, and California. After almost 8 years in the Army, my wife and I decided to take our now 3 children back to Utah where I went back to school for an Engineering degree and then joined the Army National Guard. We were able to adopt 2 more children in 1993. I received my master's degree in Public Administration from BYU in the late 90s and retired from the National Guard in 2001. Soon after, I began working security for the Olympics in SLC and was head of security over one of the venues. My wife passed away in March 2024. Currently, I am retired and enjoy spending time with my family and doing handyman work for my neighbors.
